As the Director of APEC Harmonization Center (AHC), it is my honor and privilege to lead this insitution dedicated to promote regulatory convergence on production, distribution and quality & safety management of medical products in APEC region for over 15 years.

AHC is a unique organization for being a permanent center, endorsed by APEC ministers and leaders in 2008, and is established under the National Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS), MFDS in Korea with a goal to achieve prosperous regulatory reform and convergence in the region by engaging with representatives from government, industry and academia.

Since its inception, AHC has been putting significant effort to promote regulatory convergence in the region and lead various projects in collaboration with regulatory agencies, international organizations and industry, such as providing training opportunities for regulatory capacity building, conducting research on regulatory framework on medical products among APEC economies and measuring APEC's progress toward regualtory convergence with Key Performance Indicator (KPI), which lead AHC to be recognized of its importance from many global harmonization initiatives.

As such, in our continuing efforts to promote regulatory convergence, I am positive and enthusiasitc about the future and our works ahead, and the AHC will remain committed to further expand our efforts for regulatory convergnece in the APEC region and beyond.
