Sharing WHO Listed Authority (WLA) experience and providing hands-on training in vaccine national lot release testing

Eighteen participants from regulatory authorities in nine countries and one international organization

The Global Harmonization Center (GHC) will host the 2026 GHC Vaccine Hands-on Training from June 22 to 26, bringing together 18 participants from regulatory authorities and international organizations.

Established to strengthen regulatory capacity and promote international regulatory harmonization in the field of medical products, GHC offers a range of international training programs, among which the Vaccine Hands-on Training Program serves as one of its flagship initiatives.

The program will welcome participants from regulatory authorities in nine countries and one international organization. Through the training, participants will gain insights into Korea’s national lot release system, national standards management framework, and experience in achieving WHO Listed Authority (WLA) status. They will also participate in both theoretical and practical training related to vaccine testing methodologies.

In particular, participants will receive hands-on training at the Vaccine Safety Technology Support Center, covering national lot release testing methods such as sterility testing, endotoxin testing, identification and content testing for Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccines, and the Single Radial Immunodiffusion (SRID) assay for influenza vaccines.

GHC expects the program to provide a platform for sharing Korea’s regulatory expertise in vaccine quality control and national lot release while fostering closer collaboration with overseas regulatory authorities. GHC further expects that strengthened cooperation with overseas regulatory authorities will contribute to advancing global regulatory harmonization and regulatory capacity building.
