GHC Expands Global Regulatory Collaboration at ICH and IPRP Meetings

The Global Harmonization Center (GHC) participated in the International Council for Harmonisation (ICH) Assembly and the International Pharmaceutical Regulators Programme (IPRP) Management Committee Meeting held in Brazil from June 2 to 4, 2026, as the representative of APEC. During the meetings, GHC highlighted its key activities and achievements while strengthening collaboration with leading regulatory authorities and international organizations.

At the meetings, GHC shared updates on its regulatory harmonization and capacity-building initiatives and introduced its ongoing efforts to support global regulatory convergence through education, training, and international cooperation.

On the sidelines of the meetings, GHC held a bilateral meeting with the President of Brazil’s National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA). Building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed earlier this year, both organizations discussed practical cooperation in the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and cosmetics. Areas of collaboration included participation in the Global Cosmetics Regulatory Authorities Summit (GCORAS), engagement in GHC training programs, expansion of regulatory reliance initiatives, and cooperation related to medical device Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) inspections.

GHC also met with representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO) to discuss future collaboration on regulatory capacity strengthening. In addition, discussions with the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA) focused on expanding opportunities for global industry experts to contribute to GHC’s regulatory harmonization and capacity-building programs.

Through its participation in the ICH and IPRP meetings, GHC further strengthened its global network and reinforced its commitment to advancing regulatory harmonization. GHC will continue working closely with international partners to promote regulatory excellence, strengthen regulatory systems, and support global public health.
